NLA members visited the Bishopsgate Goodsyard today for an exclusive Study Tour, where they heard from heritage specialist Chris Dyson alongside the Ballymore and Hammerson joint venture team.

Members were given a behind-the-scenes look at the soon-to-be-reimagined Braithwaite arches, a key part of the development’s ambitious plans. Bishopsgate Goodsyard is set to deliver affordable workspace, new offices, a public park, and 500 homes.

The proposals also include 1,600 sq m of retail space, a cultural destination building on Brick Lane, and an exhibition space along the historic London Road beneath a new elevated park. Central to the plans is the retention and restoration of much of the site’s heritage, with the listed Braithwaite Viaduct arches to be opened to the public and the historic Oriel Gate refurbished to form a striking entrance from Shoreditch High Street.
